Belarusian nuclear power plant security unit in test mode

MINSK, 18 March (BelTA) – The internal troops unit assigned to protect the Belarusian nuclear power plant is now in test mode, BelTA learned from Belarusian Deputy Internal Affairs Minister, Chief of the Internal Troops Yuri Nazarenko.

The official said: “Personnel of the internal troops command are now protecting the nuclear power plant in test mode. The stage of experimental and live testing of the physical security solutions is now over. The entire security system is working in normal mode.”

In his words, an interagency commission to activate the security system of the Belarusian nuclear power plant started working on 11 March. The work is supposed to end by the end of March. “Once the papers are signed, personnel of military unit No.7434 will be put on guard to protect the nuclear power plant,” Yuri Nazarenko noted.
