A factory to assemble Belarusian road-building machinery will be commissioned in Venezuela, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Venezuela Oleg Paferov told the media on 8 July. The official took part in the seminar of heads of diplomatic missions and consular offices of Belarus which theme was “Major areas of activity of foreign diplomatic missions in present-day conditions,” BelTA has learnt.

“We are going to commission the fourth facility in Venezuela. This time it is a factory to assemble road-building machinery. Technical equipment for its operation is being supplied,” the Ambassador said. All in all there are three factories currently operating in Venezuela. It is a brick block producing factory and assembly facilities of vehicles and tractors. Moreover, the Belarusian builders have constructed 18,000 apartments in Venezuela. They are working to build social housing and agrotowns. “All these projects will be continued and we are planning to construct as much in the future because the demand is very high,” Oleg Paferov said commenting on the decision of the Belarusian and Venezuelan heads of state to revise the bilateral relations and draw up a roadmap of their development. “Our cooperation areas did not change after the new president had taken office, and this is the main thing for us,” the Ambassador underlined.

Oleg Paferov is also the Ambassador of Belarus to Ecuador and Bolivia on concurrent, which is why the embassy is examining the areas of cooperation with these two states, too. “We cannot boast such tight contacts with these countries as we have with Venezuela but we are determined to expand them, too. The implementation of the roadmap will foster these relations,” Oleg Paferov stressed. Bolivia and Ecuador are interested in seeing Belarus on their markets, especially in mining industry. “The embassy is studying these regions, we are making proposals to our ministries and exporters about the promising areas of cooperation. Belarus can export its technologies there and they will be in demand,” the Ambassador underscored.
