MINSK, 22 July (BelTA) – There are no problems with the personnel the Belarusian nuclear power plant needs, BelTA learned from Director of the Nuclear Energy Department of the Belarusian Energy Ministry Vasily Polyukhovich during the online conference held on 22 July to discuss benefits and prospects of peaceful uses of nuclear energy in Belarus.

The official noted: “As for the operation personnel, the Russian side is supposed to train and has trained about 600 specialists for us. They will directly operate the nuclear power plant. We are hiring for the second unit now. We employ young university graduates as well. About 400 of them have been hired.”

Personnel for the Belarusian nuclear power plant are trained as part of the government program “Education and youth policy” for the 2016-2020 period. The Energy Ministry representative explained that a similar document will be worked out for the next five-year plan.

“Good conditions have been created for the workers, including training conditions. We don't see problems with personnel,” Vasily Polyukhovich concluded.
