Nuclear cooperation continues despite the uneasy geo-political situation

31.03.2014
Despite the uneasy geo-political situation in the world in recent time, the nuclear power continues developing and cooperation in this field between various companies does not stop for a minute, Dmitry Baranov, senior expert at Finam Management, told media, BelTA informs.

“All workers of the nuclear industry do comprehend their responsibility and are eager to secure stable energy and heat supply to all consumers, doing it in accordance with all safety requirements. The agreement reached these days about RAOS VOYMA OY buying 34% of Fennovoima shares is another confirmation of successful interstate cooperation in the nuclear field”, he stated.

“RAOS VOYMA OY is an affiliate company of Rosatom, it carries out the deal completely in accordance with agreements made before with the Finnish party. For instance, it was planned that in March 2014 the Fennovoima shares will be acquired and it happened in accordance with the schedule. In April, it is planned to hold a general meeting of Fennovoima where a decision will be made on further investments in the Hanhikivi project; new board of directors is to be elected. I hardly doubt that all these events will take place; it means the project schedule will be fulfilled by the Russian and Finnish party, as the project is mutually profitable.

I see no grounds for doubts of other foreign partners of Rosatom, as despite various speculations on international sanctions, the company fully meets its obligations and will do so in future. First of all, this can be explained by Rosatom’s reputation, its willingness not to let down the partners. There are no grounds for doubts that all projects that Rosatom is carrying out abroad will be further implemented on schedule”, expert underlined.
