Russia proved its reliability as a strategic partner

10.08.2014
Russia and Kazakhstan enjoy a long history of partnership in the nuclear energy sector, head of the analytical department of Energocapital (Russia) Alexander Ignatyuk told reporters, BelTA has learned.

"They have jointly extracted uranium. In the Soviet times they operated a reactor in Aqtau. And they have a number of joint design projects for a nuclear power plant in the Kazakh territory. So, it is quite logical that they are enlarging their cooperation and signing an NPP construction agreement. In any case, Russia has proved its reliability as a strategic partner in developing nuclear technologies in Kazakhstan. Its reactors have proved their efficiency both at home and abroad. They are safer and technologically better than their foreign analogues", he said.
