Russia’s intention to increase the share of nuclear power in its energy mix is quite logical. Russia is a country with an actively developing energy sector. This is especially true for nuclear power. The country is constantly working to enhance the safety and the efficiency of its nuclear reactors and to reduce their costs, Yuri Prokudin, analyst at MFX Broker, told media, BelTA informs.
“By consuming less natural resources for producing electric energy Russia may save its oil and gas and supply them to traditional consumers, like Europe and China. This will give the country’s economy more money and more chances to develop more sectors. Let’s not forget that nuclear energy implies the use of innovative technologies, which are also actively used in army, space, nuclear medicine and exploration”, expert noted.
