IAEA international conference “Nuclear Energy in the 21st Century” in Saint Petersburg

The international high-level conference “Nuclear Energy in the 21st Century” took place in Saint Petersburg under the aegis of the International Atomic Energy Agency on 27-29 June. Belarus’ delegation was led by Energy Minister Vladimir Potupchik. He told the attendees that security is a number one priority of Belarus’ national nuclear energy program. The delegates stated in the final resolution that nuclear energy is a time-tested, pure, safe and cost-effective technology that will come to play a bigger role in maintaining energy security and sustainable development of many countries.
