Novovoronezh nuclear power plant — one of Russia’s oldest nuclear industry enterprises

The Novovoronezh nuclear power plant is one of the oldest nuclear energy industry enterprises in Russia. It is located in Voronezh Oblast 3.5km away from the city of Novovoronezh. It is Russia’s first nuclear power plant with water-moderated energy reactors. At present it operates three out of five power-generating units.

The construction of two new-generation units with VVER-1200 reactors using the AES-2006 design has been in progress since 2007. It is an innovative and breakthrough installation of the nuclear energy industry that complies with all the current safety requirements and also incorporates brand new technologies.
