Academies of Sciences of Belarus, China sign landmark cooperation agreement

The cooperation agreement signed by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB), the Belarusian National Foundation for Fundamental Research, and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) is a landmark document, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov said during the meeting between a CASS delegation and the NASB authorities, BelTA has learned.

“The signing ceremony of the agreement on scientific cooperation became a landmark event for all our organizations. It will help us further intensify our cooperation. It is time for us to start developing and implementing some real projects. Now we should map out areas of cooperation. Many forms of cooperation exist, and we should actively use them,” Vladimir Gusakov pointed out.

In his words, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is ready to welcome young Chinese scientists wishing to enroll in master's degree programs or other graduate level courses in Belarus. Besides, Vladimir Gusakov came up with an idea to hold Belarus-China scientific conferences on issues relevant for both countries.

“I want to thank the Chinese delegation for the visit. It is a great honor for the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus to host scientists from China, a country with enormous scientific potential,” Vladimir Gusakov said.
