Belarus and China signed an agreement on increasing the authorized fund of the China-Belarus Industrial Park Development Company. The document was inked in Beijing on 21 October following the 14th meeting of the Belarusian-Chinese commission for trade and economic cooperation, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus in China.
The Belarusian delegation was led by Chairman of the Belarusian part of the commission, Vice Premier Anatoly Tozik, the Chinese delegation – by Vice Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan.
The 2nd meeting of the intergovernmental coordination council on the development of the Belarusian-Chinese Industrial Park was held as part of the commission.
The commission signed the memorandum of the 14th meeting of the Belarusian-Chinese commission for trade and economic cooperation, the protocol of the 2nd meeting of the intergovernmental coordination council of the park, the agreement on increasing the authorized fund of the China-Belaru Industrial Park Development Company, a memorandum of cooperation to support the industrial park project, an agreement on the implementation of an investment project to construct a solar panel plant in FEZ Mogilev (Belarus), an agreement on the implementation of an investment project to construct a 10MW photovoltaic power plant in FEZ Mogilev, a memorandum on joint maintenance of electric freight locomotives delivered from China, a memorandum on joint cooperation in engineering between the Belzheldorproyekt Institute of the Belarusian Railways and the China Machinery and Electric Equipment Import and Export Company.
The Belarusian and Chinese heads of the commission stressed that the meeting was of great importance and the first one following the meeting of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in July 2013. A declaration on the establishment of all-round strategic partnership was signed during this high-level meeting.
The members of the commission exchanged opinions on a wide range of bilateral trade, economic, and investment issues, made a number of proposals to intensify mutually beneficial cooperation. The focus of the meeting was on the construction of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park.
