Almost 400 people to attend 12th Belarusian Ecological Forum

Over 370 people from every Belarusian region will take part in the 12th nationwide ecological forum, BelTA learnt from head of the department for information and public relations, spokeswoman for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Tatiana Yevdaseva.

This year the forum will take place in Mozyr on 12-14 September. The main events are scheduled for 13 September.

According to Tatiana Yevdaseva, the forum will be preceded by a solemn parading of the participating delegations, including representatives of government bodies, public organizations and associations. They will be accompanies by columns of flag-bearers consisting of students. The program of the forum envisages festival, conferences, competitions. Among the events is an exhibition on present-day technologies in rational environmental management, visits to schools and environmental centers. The forum will include a regional arts and crafts fair “Golden Hands of Mozyr Masters”. The program will also comprise numerous campaigns and award ceremonies.

“The nationwide ecological forum is a mass event that is aimed at consolidation of all layers of the society in addressing environmental problems and the rational use of natural resources,” Tatiana Yevdaseva said. The forum focuses on enhancing environmental culture of the population, popularizing the principles of sustainable use of natural resources.
