Another step towards paperless document economy in Belarus

13.03.2014
Digital consignment notes can now be used in Belarus in line with the relevant executive order of the Council of Ministers of Belarus, BelTA has learned.

Executive order No.202 of 7 March 2014 was published by the national legal information website law.by on 13 March. Digital consignment notes are to be signed digitally and are to be transferred and received by electronic data interchange (EDI) providers, which reside in Belarus and have passed the relevant certification procedures. The certified EDI providers are listed on the website of the Center for Identification Systems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The executive order also stipulates requirements for EDI providers. They are to observe the legislation on the circulation of digital documents, allow the reception and transfer of digital consignment notes 24/7, have to place their software and hardware for the electronic document flow in Belarus, protect information about digital consignment notes, and provide information about digital consignment notes and information required to create digital consignment notes to taxation authorities.
