The National Art Museum of Belarus has launched a new service, audio-guides, BelTA learnt from Nadezhda Usova, Deputy Director General for Science at the museum.
Now every tourist may listen to the information about masterpieces displayed at the museum.
“The rent of an audio-guide is Br20,000. The sum is charged additionally to the cost of tickets,” Nadezhda Usova said.
The information on the most interesting exhibits is available in three languages: Belarusian, Russian and English. The phonogram includes two- and three-minute long stories on 90 items from the museum collection. The list of audio-texts will be further expanded.
The mobile guide was tested in spring 2014 during the Ten Centuries of Art in Belarus project.
Visitors with the mobile Internet and the barcode reader software are able to get information on the exhibits with the help of QR-codes.
Founded in 1939, the National Art Museum is the country’s biggest storage of national and foreign values as well as a scientific and methodical center. The unique collection of works of the old Belarusian, Russia, West-European, Eastern and modern national art is the pride of Belarus which catches attention overseas. The museum collection contains more than 24,000 objects.
