MINSK, 13 October (BelTA) – Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Piotr Parkhomchik took a close look at exhibits of the Artificial Intelligence in Belarus exhibition, which is timed to the 95th anniversary since the foundation of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, BelTA has learned.
Piotr Parkhomchik asked questions about the purpose of the new R&D products and prospects of their assimilation and about the experience of using the R&D products that have already been put to use. The official underlined he was glad to see young developers at the exhibition because the country's future belongs to them.
Piotr Parkhomchik was particularly interested in such exhibits as an inclination angle sensor developed by OAO Minsk Research Institute of Radiomaterials and used by OAO BelAZ to make haul trucks as well as a software and hardware complex used to identify and keep an eye on the physiological state of animals. The complex was developed by the Research and Production Center for Agricultural Mechanization of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The deputy prime minister mentioned the importance of developing the country's information technology industry, artificial intelligence, and of assimilating R&D accomplishments of scientists in the real sector of the economy. Instructions were given to complete and assimilate the Academy of Sciences' AI-powered R&D products in the field of electric transport vehicles, precision farming, power engineering, and other fields. Instructions were given to multiply and use these products in the manufacturing sector.
The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is hosting the 2nd IT Academgrad forum and exhibition Artificial Intelligence in Belarus on 12-13 October. The forum and the exhibition are timed to the 95th anniversary since the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus was founded. An exhibition of prominent Belarusian R&D projects in the area of artificial intelligence and robot technology has been organized as part of the forum. About 50 Belarusian organizations are taking part in the forum and demonstrate their accomplishments in the area of artificial intelligence at the expo. Those are scientific research organizations that pursue research in the area of artificial intelligence applications, representatives of education institutions, and private companies. A total of over 100 projects are on display, including the national AI platform BELAI.BY and an AI-powered voice assistant that speaks Belarusian.
