Belarus and U.S. scientists discuss professionals exchange, technology transfer

Scientists of Belarus and the United States discussed the possibility of developing professionals exchange and technology transfer programs during the 20th Eurasian/Russian - American Innovation Technology Week RANIT which is running in Philadelphia on 11-17 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB).

"NASB scientists are taking part in the conference and have already presented their latest research products. Our experts met with representatives of the Pennsylvania State University and the Wistar Institute to discuss establishing academic, scientific and technical cooperation, including the exchange of specialists, internships and technology transfer,” the NASB informed.

The press service noted that Chief Scientific Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Alexander Kilchevsky made a presentation about the innovation potential of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus to showcase the promising scientific developments.

A special session was devoted to Belarus on the opening day of the conference. The head of the marketing department at EPAM Systems Elena Scheckter made a report about the positive experience of cooperation between Belarus and the United States in high-and computer technology.

"The Belarusian delegation is also attending the 2015 BIO International Convention, the biggest event in the United States in this field, which is also running in Philadelphia on 15-17 June. Meetings are scheduled with the executives of EPAM Systems and Rastelli Foods Group located in Pennsylvania and New Jersey to discuss the exchange of experience in the field of innovation technologies and biotechnologies," NASB said.

According to the press service, on 13-15 June in Washington the Belarusian delegation held meetings and talks with Director of the Office for Central Europe and Eurasia, U.S. National Academies Glenn Schweitzer, Senior Vice President at the National Association of College and University Business Officers Matthew Hamill, and other prominent American scientists. The parties discussed the issues related to the identification of the priority areas for joint research of the two countries' scientists.
