14.07.2015
Belarus is interested in cooperating with Japan to make electric automobiles, BelTA learned from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Japan Sergei Rakhmanov before a Belarusian-Japanese business meeting on 14 July.

The Ambassador said that Belarus is primarily interested in the production of automobile components and new kinds of automobiles such as electric automobiles. According to the source, the market for electric automobiles exists and will grow larger. “We are now in negotiations with interested parties on the Belarusian and Japanese sides,” noted Sergei Rakhmanov.

The Ambassador stated that as far as assets on the Belarusian market are concerned, Japanese companies are slightly behind a number of Western and Chinese companies for now. “We constantly point out the fact to our partners in Japan. It is important that among the partners that have come to Minsk there are representatives of companies, which are interested in cooperation in the automobile industry,” said Sergei Rakhmanov.

A Belarusian-Japanese business meeting took place in Minsk on 14 July. Taking part in the meeting were top executives of about 20 leading Japanese companies, including Mitsubishi Motors Rus, Hitachi Construction Machinery, Sojitz, Panasonic Rus.
