Belarus and Ecuador are planning to set up a joint laboratory to develop unmanned aircrafts, Sergei Chizhik, Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, told journalists during his meeting with the delegation from Ecuador, BelTA has learnt.
The Ecuadorian delegation got interested in the Belarusian research in various fields of science, industry, and education. In particular, the members of the delegation showed interest in the remote sensing of the Earth with the use of the Belarusian space vehicle, unmanned aircrafts used for border protection, the natural resources analysis, and the emergencies diagnosis. “We are planning to create a joint engineering laboratory to develop and produce unmanned aircrafts in
Ecuador,” Sergei Chizhik said.
The Ecuadorian officials got interested in the Belarusian pharmaceutical products used to treat oncology diseases. The delegation of Ecuador also showed great interest in the Belarusian system of education and professional training.
Besides, Ecuadorian Vice President Jorge Glas Espinel attended the permanent exhibition “National Science for the Industrial Sector” at the Belarusian Academy of Sciences that demonstrates the achievements of the Belarusian scientific research.
