Belarus’ first quick electric car recharging station to open in Minsk

Belarus’ first station to offer quick charging to electric cars in compliance with the CHAdeMO standard will be opened at an exit from Minsk (the direction of Logoisk) on 9 October, the organizers of the event told BelTA.
The station will allow electric cars to recharge their accumulators within only 30 minutes, which is 12 times shorter than the time available from several other electric car recharging stations in Minsk. The CHAdeMO standard allows quickly recharging accumulators of mass-produced electric cars, with the charge power at 50kW.
The organizers told BelTA that the decision to open the quick recharging station at an exit from Minsk had been made taking into account positive international experience. The accepted international practice recommends setting up recharging stations in places with the largest concentration of people and hence cars: near shopping centers, sport venues, administrative buildings, city centers, and along motorways with massive traffic. “There is a number of electric cars in Belarus already. We believe that the emergence of the modern express recharging station will raise the demand for green cars among Belarusians,” said the organizers.
The mass-produced cars that can use the station’s recharging services without additional equipment include Kia Soul EV, Nissan e-NV200, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, Peugeot Partner, Mitsubishi Minicab-MiEV Truck, Honda Fit EV, Mazda Demio EV, Mitsubishi Minicab-MiEV, Citroen Berlingo, Nissan Leaf, Citroen C-Zero, Peugeot iON, Mitsubishi i-MiEV, Toyota eQ, Subaru Plug-in Stella, BD Otomotive eFiorino, BD Otomotive eTrafic Panel Van, BD Otomotive eKangoo Passenger. Exclusive electric cars and those unavailable to medium-income buyers, for instance, Tesla Model S, can be recharged using special adapters.
