Belarus-India IT certification center discussed

Belarus and India may set up a joint certification center for the information technologies industry. The news was released by Director of the Hi-Tech Park Administration of Belarus Valery Tsepkalo on 20 May, BelTA has learned.

“In the near future we expect a delegation of Indian government specialists. We will hold negotiations with them to discuss the creation of a joint international center for certification in the area of information technologies,” remarked Valery Tsepkalo. The center is expected to be able to certify Belarusian specialists and companies as well as representatives of Russia, Ukraine, countries of Central and Eastern Europe such as Poland, Czechia, and Slovakia.

The availability of a relevant international certificate is important for many foreign customers. It is not a mandatory requirement but can give an advantage, other terms being equal, explained the official.

The Director of the Hi-Tech Park Administration informed about other avenues of Belarus-India cooperation. A Belarusian-Indian education center for information technologies was opened several years ago. More than 3,000 Belarusian professors of information technologies have been retrained by the center. “We believe this effort in the area of cooperation in information technologies proceeds rather successfully,” stated Valery Tsepkalo.

He also mentioned education in mobile technologies in India. “The idea is very popular now because an ever increasing number of students are eager to study technologies involving programming for mobile or portable devices such as tablet computers, iPad, mobile phones, and other mobile terminals,” said the Director of the Hi-Tech Park Administration.
