Belarus offers Russia's Sverdlovsk Oblast to set up a joint cluster to manufacture quarry vehicles, Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich said as he met with Sverdlovsk Oblast Governor Yevgeny Kuivashev, BelTA has learned.
"I have a suggestion and let's consider it today. I suggest we set up the joint cluster to produce quarry vehicles,” said the head of government at the beginning of the meeting. “We manufacture dump trucks. You have the machine-building corporation Uralmash that produces powerful excavators. If we complement these two lineups with relevant special-purpose machines, we will be bale to create and jointly sell powerful mining systems,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
The head of government believes that the parties could sell these systems and provide outsourcing services.
Mikhail Myasnikovich said that the relations of Belarus and Sverdlovsk Oblast could be more efficient. "It is bad that we do not have systemic projects, and the work in the context of the trade and economic relations is limited to one-time contracts," he said. The Belarusian side places certain hopes on the successful implementation of the agreement that will be signed between BelAZ – Management Company of the BelAZ Holding Company and OAO Sinara-Transport Machines on the use of the DM-185 engines in the BelAZ dump trucks.
This is not just a commercial project. To some extent this is the national security because the countries such as Russia and Belarus cannot be dependent on external supplies of engines, said the Prime Minister.
During the current visit the Sverdlovsk Oblast delegation will sign agreements in industry and education. One of the priority areas, according to Mikhail Myasnikovich is regional cooperation.
