Belarus, Russia to discuss cooperation in nano-and biotechnologies

Scientists of Belarus and Russia will discuss the prospects of cooperation in the field of nano-and biotechnologies, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB).

"The joint meeting of the Belarusian National Academy of Sciences and the Russian Academy of Sciences will be held in Moscow on 16 June 2015. It is expected that the scientific elite of the Union State will discuss the status and prospects of development of the Belarusian-Russian cooperation in the field of nano-and biotechnologies, as well as in space exploration,” the NASB said.

According to the press service, the meeting participants will also discuss the NASB objectives in improving the science and promoting innovation development in Belarus. "Belarusian and Russian scientists will examine the plan of action for joint work of the NASB and RAS for 2016-2020. They will also look into the work of the InterAcademy Council on the Development of the Union State and the interaction of the National Academy of Sciences and the Russian Academy of Sciences under the scientific and technical programs of the Union State,” the academy noted.

The previous meeting of the academies of sciences of Belarus and Russia was held in Minsk on 15 April 2011. A representative Belarusian delegation in Moscow will include senior officials of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research, Academicians-Secretaries of the Departments of the Academy, famous scientists of the country.

The tenth session of the InterAcademy Council on the Development of the Union State will be held on 15 June 2015. It will consider the progress in the implementation of the decisions adopted at the 9th session, mechanisms for reviewing the draft Russian-Belarusian projects and programs, and also the tasks and work plans for 2016.
