Belarus to attend cyber terrorism conference in Moscow

Joint efforts to combat cyber terrorism will be discussed by the CIS special forces in Moscow, BelTA learnt from the press service of the State Security Committee of Belarus (KGB).

A delegation of the Belarusian KGB will take part in the 7th session of the heads (chiefs of staffs) of the national counter-terrorism centers of the CIS member states on 11-12 February. The session will take place on the sidelines of the 19th international forum Security Technologies.

Taking part in the events will be representatives of special forces and security agencies of Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.

The participants of the session will discuss joint efforts to combat cyber terrorism and will take part in the extended session of the Scientific Advisory Council of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center.

As was reported earlier, the international conference “International cooperation in combating high-tech terrorism: problems and solutions” will take place during the forum on the first day of the session. The forum will be arranged by the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center and the Russian Foreign Ministry.

On 12 February the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center will host a session of heads of national counter-terrorism centers. They will discuss concerted effort to prevent terrorist attacks during mass sports events and improvement of the interstate search. They will also review the results of the Tral-Antiterror 2013 special operation and assess modern-day challenges and threats related to terrorism and extremism. The conduct of a joint anti-terror exercise of the CIS member states and a joint command post rehearsal will be discussed separately.
