11.12.2014
Belarus will showcase its most advanced scientific solutions at the international exposition Expo 2017, First Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, Commissioner General at Expo 2017 Rapil Zhoshybayev said as he visited the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB), BelTA has learned.

“Astana may become a great platform for Belarus to demonstrate its cutting-edge research solutions to the international community,” Rapil Zhoshybayev said.

Kazakhstan’s First Deputy Foreign Minister informed that the expo will focus on the theme Future Energy. He believes that this theme is quite relevant for Belarus. “A nuclear power plant is being built in your country. We also plan to construct two nuclear power plants. This is the area where our scientists can join their efforts,” he noted.

The two countries will also expand cooperation in other economic sectors, including agriculture, space, and information technologies. “There are a lot of cooperation opportunities for scientists. They could set up a joint research association and invite other countries to participate,” Rapil Zhoshybayev suggested.

After meeting with the administration of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Kazakhstani delegation toured the research center for mechanization of agriculture and the Physics and Engineering Institute of the NASB. Rapil Zhoshybayev met with Kazakhstani students studying in Belarus.

The international exposition Expo 2017 will be held in Astana. It will focus on alternative and renewable sources of energy. Delegates from over 140 countries are expected to take part in the forum.
