Belarusian and Azerbaijani scientists are eager to join efforts in the filed of space exploration. Vladimir Gusakov, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and Akif Alizadeh, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan discussed this promising area of cooperation in Baku on 21 November, BelTA has learnt.
According to Vladimir Gusakov, the sides already have experience in the implementation of joint projects in medicine, chemistry, and physics. “The projects are of great importance for both Belarus and Azerbaijan. We are going to join our efforts in space exploration. In this field we can get good contracts. Our goal is to commercialize this area of cooperation, and I believe that together we will manage to achieve a lot,” Vladimir Gusakov said.
In turn, Akif Alizadeh said that scientists from the two countries have very close contacts in various fields of science. “Today we have agreed to significantly expand our joint work and research in the field of natural resources, medicine, chemicals, and space exploration,” he said. Akif Alizadeh believes it is necessary to combine the capabilities of scientists of Belarus and Azerbaijan in the field of space research, especially since both countries have their own satellites.
No less promising areas of cooperation are farming and agriculture, seismology.
“We want to learn from the experience of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences in innovation activity. The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus has made big advances on this front, and the Azerbaijani Academy of Sciences has just launched important projects related to the fundamental science and its innovative applied part,” said Akif Alizadeh.
