Belarusian and Indian universities to strengthen cooperation in IT

Universities of Belarus and India will strengthen cooperation in the field of information technology. This decision was made following the first meeting of the joint working group on cooperation in the field of education which was held in New Delhi, BelTA learned from the press center of the Education Ministry.
“The parties intend to assist educational institutions and scientific organizations to establish cooperation in order to conduct joint research and implement projects in IT,” the press service said.
A decision was taken to promote direct ties between the universities majoring in geology and mining. The parties also reviewed a possibility of developing a program of cooperation in education between Belarus and India in 2016-2020.
The Belarusian delegation informed the participants to the meeting about the achievements of the national education system, sci-tech and innovation activity in Belarus. The Indian side, in turn, briefed their colleagues from Belarus on the development of technologies in the country, new universities and the priority areas in research. They stressed the importance of developing ties between the two countries, exchanging experience and expertise between universities and scientific organizations.
The Belarusian delegation to the joint working group headed by First Deputy Education Minister Vadim Bogush is in New Delhi on a visit on 23-26 February. The second meeting of the working group is due in Minsk in 2017.
