24.03.2015
Belarusian and Russian enterprises will work together to create a unique lineup of equipment for grinding and polishing optical details, the press service of the Russian holding company Shvabe told BelTA.
An optics enterprise of the Russian holding company and the Minsk-based company OSVT, which specializes in making optical machine tools and vacuum equipment, plan to create a set of numerically controlled machine tools. The machine tools will be able to automatically process spherical, flat, and aspherical surfaces and other optical components of various optical and electronic devices. About 20 various units of equipment will be created as part of the long-term program that envisages the development of modern automated equipment and technologies to process optical details of optical and mechanical and optical and mechanical devices. The applications vary from microoptics to astrooptics. The equipment will be able to grind and polish components, which size varies from 5mm to 3m, noted the press service.
The project will be implemented in accordance with the concept for the R&D cooperation in the Union State of Belarus and Russia with assistance of the Belarusian Industry Ministry and the Industry and Trade Ministry of Russia. As much as RUB790 million will be allocated for the project, including RUB513.5 million from Russia and RUB276.5 million from Belarus. The project’s implementation will give an impulse to the development of the Belarusian and Russian optical industries. It will also contribute to import substitution, BelTA learned from Nikolai Rakovich, Deputy Director General of the Russian holding company Shvabe.
