Belarusian-Russian microsatellite equipment model into orbit in 2015
18.03.2014
A Belarusian-Russian model of equipment meant for designing microsatellites in the future will be inserted into orbit around the Earth in 2015 as part of the implementation of the Union State program Monitoring SG, BelTA learned from Sergei Korenyako, executive director of the program, department head of the United Informatics Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, on 18 March.
After fulfilling the Union State program specialists intend to use the accumulated knowledge and experience to design equipment for microsatellites.
The scientist said that small spacecraft or microsatellites are the future. They can be inserted into orbit in clusters or in other words one booster rocket can be used to launch several satellites. The microsatellites should have the relevant optical and electronic equipment to ensure quality and reliability of space data collection for further usage.
