The Scopus Award Belarus 2013 ceremony will be ghosted by the Belarusian State University (BSU) on 2 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the university.
The Scopus Award Belarus 2013 will be presented to ten people. They will be awarded in recognition of their scientific achievements at the national level in line with the Scopus database which is the largest database in the world, according to the BSU. This year the prize will be presented to the best young and also to renowned Belarusian education scientists. Two people will be awarded in each nomination, namely in mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology and medicine.
The multi-disciplinary analytical database Scopus comprises over 19,500 sci-tech and medical magazines of 5,000 international publishing houses, including Russian and Belarusian magazines.
The first Scopus Award was presented in China in 2004. Since then the prize has been conferred on the most popular authors in Latin America, Asia, Europe and Russia.
