Belavia makes maiden appearance in Farnborough airshow

The Belarusian airline Belavia is taking part in Farnborough International Airshow (United Kingdom), one of the world’s largest aerospace expos, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian airline.

For aviation industry professionals the expo opened on 2 July. The general public will be able to attend the event from 14 to 20 July.

Belavia was invited by the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer. Belavia’s Embraer-195LR is one of the showpieces on its stand. The crew of the Belarusian air carrier (pilots, flight attendants and technicians servicing the Embraer-195LR) are also taking part in the expo.

Embraer-195LR with the registration number EW400PO was delivered to Belavia on 10 May 2014 directly from the manufacturer’s plant in Brazil. At present the Belarusian airline operates four aircraft of this manufacturer. The Belarusian air company acquired two new Embraers-175 in the autumn of 2012 into leasing, and purchased two new Embraers-195LR in the spring of this year.

Belavia is Belarus' biggest air carrier, including in cargo transportation. It operates 26 aircrafts, In January 2014 the Belarusian airline acquired a legal status of an open joint stock company. It is based in Minsk International Airport and offers regular flights to 40 destinations in Europe and Asia. Belavia's services meet the highest international safety standards.
