20.08.2014
BelAZ-Management Company of BelAZ Holding Company invites Japanese manufacturers to set up a joint venture to produce electric motors with the capacity ranging from 400KW to 1,500KW, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Committee for Science and Technology that is collecting and analyzing cooperation proposals of Belarusian companies seeking closer ties with Japanese partners.

Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology of Belarus Alexander Shumilin said at the Belarus-Japan conference on scientific and technical cooperation that the committee is still collecting the information; however some specific proposals are already available. BATE- Management Company of Avtokomponenty Holding Company believes that Japanese technologies could be used in joint production of starters, generators and antilock systems. Belshina is interested in joint production of a broad range of tires. Partners might jointly design and develop equipment, technologies, composition of tires. Another promising cooperation avenue is production of carbon fibers from polyacrylonitrile at Polymir, an affiliate of Naftan.

Alexander Shumilin believes that some Belarus-made products might be of great interest to Japanese companies. For example, the KBTEM-OMO company offers high-precision optical and mechanical devices and provides services related to the design and production of optical, optical-mechanical units, and stepper motors.

A collective booth of the State Committee for Science and Technologies was presented at the Techno-Frontier 2013 in Tokyo in 2013. Belarusian research centers signed contracts worth over $700,000 at the expo. “This is not surprising, as the cooperation between Belarus and Japan is one of the most fruitful,” Alexander Shumilin underlined.
