BelAZ’s first 450-tonne truck now commissioned

The first mine dump truck with the carrying capacity of 450 tonnes made by the Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ has been commissioned, the company’s press service told BelTA.

The ceremony to put to use the first rock hauler BelAZ 75710 took place in the open pit Chernigovets of the holding company Siberian Business Union in Russia’s Kemerovo Oblast. The event was timed to Miner’s Day. Taking part in the ceremony were Kemerovo Oblast Governor Aman Tuleyev, a BelAZ delegation led by Director General Piotr Parkhomchik, heads of mining companies located in the Kuznetsk Basin, BelTA has been told.

The mine dump truck BelAZ 75710 with the carrying capacity of 450 tonnes is the world’s largest truck. It represents an advanced development on the part of the Belarusian company and is the first model in the new class of extra-large carrying capacity dump trucks. When designing the truck, the company focused on reliability, compact size, a substantial increase in performance of the dump truck in combination of fulfilling requirements of international and European safety standards, stressed the press service.

The vehicle is unique in implementing advanced technical solutions. The dump truck boasts an extreme carrying capacity, high performance, excellent maneuverability. Apart from that, the truck is cost-efficient.

The combined capacity of the truck’s power modules is 4,600hp. The truck can handle longitudinal sustained grades of up to 12% (short grades of up to 18%). The top speed is 64kmph. The diameter of the wheel exceeds 4m. The operating mass is 360 tonnes, the fully loaded mass is 810 tonnes.
