Belorusneft to test Russian technologies and equipment

14.06.2013

Russian technologies and equipment will be tested at Belorusneft deposits in the near term, BelTA learnt from the press service of the company.

Cooperation with Russian partners envisages several projects, like applying new methods to explore deposits and enhancing oil recovery. Belorusneft has recently signed cooperation documents with Oktyabrsky Packer and Yugson Service. Collaboration with these companies is believed to be very promising.

The Russian partners specialize in designing equipment to repair wells and explore deposits. Their major line of business is production of packers that are used to provide a seal between the outside of the production tubing and the inside of the casing, liner, or wellbore wall.

The documents were signed during an international science and engineering conference Oil Production 2013 held in Gomel Oblast. Taking part in the conference were about 20 companies, organizations and research centers engaged in oil and gas industry.

R&D companies affiliated with Belorusneft are expanding their operations in Russia. They are already running several subcontracted projects there. The BelNIPIneft company forged ties with Khanty-Mansi Regional Branch of Intersectional Environmental and Economic Studies of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, which helps Belarusian companies secure a footing on the Russian market.
