Now students of the Belarusian State Technological University (BSTU) have an opportunity to visit the universities of Israel and share their experience, Ambassador of Israel to Belarus Yosef Shagal told BelTA during the opening ceremony of the Days of Israeli Science and Culture at the BSTU.
“It is very important to develop the academic ties between our countries. In this regard, the BSTU is a very promising university. I believe that a delegation of this Belarusian university will visit Israel by the end of this year or in early 2015,” he noted.
The diplomat said that in Israel there are similar technological universities. The Technion, Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, is the leader among them. “It is one of the top five technological universities in the world on a par with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I believe that this cooperation will be beneficial to the BSTU,” Yosef Shagal noted. The cooperation includes exchanges of students and teachers and development of joint programs and projects.
Yosef Shagal focused on the joint projects in the field of innovation technologies and noted that Belarus will soon experience a great technological breakthrough. “I am sure that in some two to three years the present-day students will bring about a real breakthrough in innovation technologies. Belarus has started actively working in this area, and our experience will be useful for it,” the diplomat emphasized.
