Presentation of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park project was held for business and government officials of the Chinese Jiangsu Province BelTA learned from the Economy Ministry of Belarus.
The event was attended by about 120 business representatives and officials from the cities of Nanjing and Xuzhou. First Deputy Economy Minister of Belarus Anatoly Filonov made a report about the development of the Belarusian economy and favorable investment environment. The Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park project was presented together with partners from the Chinese engineering company CAMCE and the Chinese-Belarusian developer of the industrial park.
“After the presentations there was a Q&A. Representatives of the Chinese companies were interested in the organization of building works in the park, registration terms, land-lease costs,” said the ministry.
Prior to the presentation the Belarusian delegation led by Anatoly Filonov met with the leadership of the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. The Chinese side noted the importance of the commitment to revive the Silk Road, the Eastern gate of which is Jiangsu Province. Belarus is viewed as a participant of the West-East road.
The parties also identified the priorities of bilateral cooperation. These include the delivery of agricultural products (flax, dairy products, baby food) to the Chinese province, the establishment of joint ventures to make tractors and harvesters, participation in the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park project, and cooperation in the field of education.
In addition, on 5-6 May in Beijing, First Deputy Economy Minister Anatoly Filonov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Viktor Burya held talks with the leadership of the State Development Bank of China, the China National Engineering Corporation SINOMACH and the Investment Corporation CIC.
“At the meeting with the Chinese Bank and SINOMACH the key theme was the design and construction of the first phase of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park project, and its financing. The parties also discussed the preparation of such an important event as a foundation stone ceremony for the first facility of the park - International Exhibition Center. This event is scheduled for June this year,” the Economy Ministry said.
At a meeting with the CIC representatives, the parties discussed the prospects for portfolio investment by the Chinese State Investment Fund which the CIC is.
Organizers of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park presentation were the Economy Ministry of Belarus, the People's Government of Jiangsu Province, Belarus' Consulate General in Shanghai, the Chinese engineering corporation CAMCE and the Chinese-Belarusian developer of the industrial park.
