CIS launches contest for young hi-tech researchers

The CIS International Innovative Nanotechnology Center (IINC) and the Russian Joint Institute for Nuclear Research with the support of the CIS Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund (IHCF) have announced a contest for scientific research funding, BelTA learned from the IHCF press service.
Young scientists and specialists under 35 years of age from educational and research institutions of the CIS member countries who are involved in high-technology research and have the potential to commercialize their inventions are invited to take part in the contest.
The organizers give preference to projects that have already reached the patenting or implementation stage and that are related to nanotechnologies, nuclear technologies, biotechnologies, energy efficiency, information technologies, and other fields.
The amount of the grant is up to RUB500,000.
Besides, the Russian Joint Institute for Nuclear Research and the CIS International Innovative Nanotechnology Center with the support of the Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund will organize an internship program for young CIS scientists and specialists in Dubna near Moscow. The program will last from 14 September till 13 October 2015. The scientists will have an opportunity to learn about the latest achievements in nanosystem research, experimental methods of nanodiagnostics, and cross-disciplinary approach to studying nano-bio-info-cognitive technologies. They will also participate in scientific discussions on the topical issues of nanotechnologies, physics, chemistry, material science, and innovation management.
As many as 20 young specialists under 35 years of age from all countries of the CIS will be invited to take part in the program on a competitive basis.
