CIS member states to exchange scientific and technical information

The CIS member states will exchange scientific and technical information. The agreement was signed at the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government in Minsk on 30 may, BelTA has learned.
The document contains the principles of interaction in the international exchange of scientific and technical information, development of joint programs and projects in this area, funding for their implementation, training and skills development. The parties to the agreement undertake to facilitate the high-speed access to the information resources through the use of advanced information and telecommunication technologies, to participate in the preparation and implementation of joint programs and projects in the field of scientific and technical information.
Interstate exchange of scientific and technical information implies joint use of information resources, information support in fundamental and applied research, innovative developments in the field of natural and technical sciences, including within the framework of international scientific and technological projects and programs and provision of scientific and technical information to scientists and engineers.
According to the agreement, the interstate exchange of scientific and technical information is the Interstate Coordinating Council, which approves joint programs and projects in this field.
The document was developed to extend the exchange of scientific and technical information, development of the CIS information and innovation space, joint and mutually beneficial use of information resources, scientific information and information-analytical support of innovation efforts in the CIS member states.
