This year the final part of the contest of innovative projects for the IT industry Belarus Startup will take place as part of the international specialized forum TIBO 2013. The information was released by Mr Alexander Meleshchenko, head of the business incubator IT House, on 12 March, BelTA has learned.
It will be the third time Belarus Startup will be held. The contest has grown to be a noticeable event for the Belarusian technological community. Every year the contest gathers domestic and foreign investors and experts of the IT industry, developers and marketing specialists, young businessmen.
According to Alexander Meleshchenko, many respectable projects in the Belarusian part of the Internet were once startups submitted for this contest.
“This year it will embrace all the regions of the republic and will end as part of the country’s largest computer expo TIBO that will take place in Minsk on 23-26 April,” said the head of the business incubator. Experts of the world’s top IT companies and investment funds have been invited to assess the quality of projects.
Projects relating to the sphere of high technologies at various stages of readiness – from a business idea to a working project – that require financing to become commercial are invited to participate in the contest.
This month the organizers will go on a StartupTOUR around the oblast capitals of Belarus in order to give innovators and students from the regions an opportunity to state their projects and advance the most promising ones to the global market with support of experienced businessmen.
Alexander Meleshchenko remarked that authors of the participating projects will be able to get investments and marketing support of the contest. The best ones will be presented before domestic and foreign investors and will be able to go to the USA Silicon Valley for on-the-job training.
