CSTO calls for universal rules of conduct in information field

23.12.2014
The presidents of the CSTO member states have urged the international community to adopt the rules of conduct in the information field, reads the joint statement passed by the CSTO leaders at a session of the CSTO Collective Security Council in Moscow on 23 December, BelTA has learned.

The presidents are concerned that information and communication technologies can be used to interfere with the domestic affairs of states and undermine the social stability.

“We would like to emphasize the need to observe the norms and principles of the international law in the information field and believe that the international community should promptly pass the universal rules, norms and principles of responsible conduct of states in this field,” the document reads.
