Days of Belarusian science at Expo Milano 2015

The Days of Belarusian Science were held at Expo Milano 2015 on 29-30 September, BelTA learnt from the press service of Belarus’ National Pavilion.

The program of the Days included a presentation of promising areas in research and business talks on joint implementation of sci-tech projects and commercialization of innovative solutions in such areas as environment, agriculture, food security and healthcare.

The Belarusian delegation was led by Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee Alexander Shumilin and First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences Sergei Chizhik. Alexander Shumilin noted in his speech that Belarus develops three to five world-class innovations on an annual basis. Among them is stem cell treatment, DNA technologies for marker selection of plants and animals, an atomic-force microscope with software, the new-generation micro fertilizer Nanoplant and many more.

Belarus cooperates with more than 50 countries in the innovation sector. The country has 37 valid intergovernmental and inter-agency agreements on sci-tech cooperation.
