Decree on electronic document management signed in Belarus

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed decree No. 243 “Concerning the electronic document management during the preparation and passing of legal acts” on 15 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The document aims to introduce an electronic document management system in the preparation and passing of legal acts, including the registration of official documents in the National Register of Legal Acts and official publication at the National Legal Internet Portal.

To ensure the introduction of the electronic document management system, starting from 1 January 2016 only electric files or copies of technical legal acts will be submitted to the National Center of Legal Information of the Republic of Belarus.

From 1 January 2016 to 1 January 2017 departmental acts (acts of national and local authorities) will be submitted as hard copies or electronic files (using a special system designed by the National Center of Legal Information of the Republic of Belarus); starting from 1 January 2017 only electronic files and copies of these documents will be used.

Starting from 1 January 2016 other legal acts (laws, acts of the head of state, government resolutions) can be submitted as hard copies or electronic files.
