Digital declarations experiment at Belarusian border

The Brest division of the Belarusian customs service will stage an experiment that will allow natural persons to submit digital declarations about the personal-use goods they want to transport across the border via the dedicated section of the website of the State Customs Committee of Belarus. The experiment will proceed in the customs clearance station Varshavsky Most till 1 September 2015, the press service of Belarus' Customs told BelTA.

The main advantage of preliminary digital declarations is the reduced time spent on customs operations to transport personal belongings across the border, explained the press service of the State Customs Committee of Belarus.

As part of the experiment one red corridor will be allocated for those, who use preliminary customs declarations to enter Belarus, and another red corridor will be assigned for those, who leave the country.

According to the source, the amount of information submitted via preliminary digital declarations will have to match the amount of information submitted via conventional passenger customs declarations that were approved by executive order No. 287 of the Customs Union Commission on 18 June 2010. Customs personnel reserve the right to reject the declarations that have not been filled in properly. The information can be submitted using the Android and iOS platforms via the Internet browsers Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

The data can be submitted by natural persons in Russian or English.
