17.06.2013

The first Belarusian-French offshore wind farm went on stream in Grande Synthe (Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France) on 15 June, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus in France.

The official opening ceremony was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to France Pavel Latushko and Grande Synthe Mayor Damien Careme.

The wind farm was developed by French scientist Charles Sarrazin, the worker of the Research Center of the Supreme National School in Douai. The majority of the details of the unit were produced at the joint Belarusian-French company Energy Group in Mogilev, which was set up for the project.

Keeping in mind the interest of France, Germany and other EU countries in wind farms, the company will continue its production for the export.
