Free Wi-Fi for reporters in designated press centers during 2014 IIHF World Championship

Wireless Internet access via Wi-Fi will be free for reporters, who are accredited for the ice hockey world championship in Minsk. Free Wi-Fi access will be available in press centers and designated areas (VIP) as well as in places of residence where Wi-Fi services are provided by Beltelecom. The decision was made at the government session held to discuss Internet access during the ice hockey world championship, the press service of the Belarus government told BelTA.

Beltelecom cards and services will be available for sale for reporters in the press centers of Minsk Arena and Chizhovka Arena. Fans will be able to buy Internet access cards in the two arenas, too. Beltelecom’s outlets in Minsk Arena and Chizhovka Arena will stay open from 10:00 till 23:00 for the duration of the championship.

Wi-Fi access cards will also be sold in places of residence of organizers, official persons, and accredited reporters.

Depending on their value, the cards will cost from Br1,375 (VAT excluded) for 60 minutes of Internet access to Br32,000 for five days of Internet access. The cards will be available in Beltelecom’s outlets, hotels, outlets of the national postal service provider Belpochta, at railway and bus stations, the National Airport Minsk, in public catering outlets, and other places.
