The Belarusian science has made a breakthrough over the last 15 years, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov told media at the opening of an exhibition featuring the achievements of the Belarusian academic science on 3 September, BelTA informs.

“We cannot say that we have no problems. There are issues that should be addressed. However, the things we have achieved in the past 10-15 years can be viewed as a breakthrough,” said Vladimir Gusakov.

The Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) stressed that the NASB has tasks to integrate into economy, work for economy, secure the country’s innovative development and its sci-tech progress. These tasks are successfully addressed.

According to Vladimir Gusakov, the Belarusian science has always been highly-developed. “After the collapse of the Soviet Union we were left without any means of subsistence. Big military and industrial orders were ceased. We had to seek new customers, and today the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus has achieved sustainable development,” he said.
