Innovative projects to reduce energy intensity of production on display in Minsk

Innovative projects of Belarusian scientists to reduce energy intensity of production are on show in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

Minsk is hosting an international sci-tech conference, Energy Efficiency 2014. According to Deputy Director for Scientific Work and Innovative Activity of the Lykov Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Valentin Astashinsky, scientists will discuss the latest achievements and new approaches to new technologies to reduce energy intensity. “It includes not only the consumption of energy resources (oil, gas, electricity) but also the development of advanced technologies in the modification of materials, engineering. Our scientists will present their projects in every aspect under discussion: from reducing energy intensity of production to the development of the latest plasma technologies,” he noted.

Minsk is hosting the sci-tech conference, Energy Efficiency 2014, on 12-14 October. Partaking in the forum are leading scientists and specialists from Belarus, Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Lithuania. “This international conference has long traditions. It has been held for a long time in Kiev. In 2011 a decision was taken to move it outside Ukraine. In 2012 the conference was held in Saint Petersburg. We are hosting it this year,” Valentin Astashinsky said.
