Mechanical engineering innovations in spotlight at scientific conference in Minsk
02.10.2014
Over 300 scientists from six countries will their share experience during the international science and technology conference Innovations in Mechanical Engineering 2014 that began in Minsk on 2 October, BelTA learned from Vladimir Algin, Deputy Director for Science of the United Mechanical Engineering Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, during the opening ceremony.
“At present the mechanical engineering industry — the production of tractors, automobiles, harvesters — accounts for about 30-50% of the total industrial output of the world’s leading countries. It would be impossible without vigorous scientific support,” he remarked.
Mechanical engineering specialists from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Sweden will share their accomplishments and innovative ideas. Over 100 scientific reports will be presented within two days. Taking part in the forum will be representatives of the Central Scientific Research Automobile and Automotive Engine Institute of the Russian Federation (aka NAMI, Moscow), OAO KamAZ (Naberezhnyye Chelny), the Transport Systems Institute of the Nizhny Novgorod State University (Nizhny Novgorod), OAO Amkodor (Minsk).
The conference will feature several panel sessions including the designing of machines and machine components, mechanical engineering materials and technologies. Scientists are expected to discuss the improvement of manufacturing processes in the mechanical engineering industry, will hear reports on computer-assisted modelling and benchmark testing of mechanical engineering components, the designing of mobile machines.
The conference has been arranged by the United Mechanical Engineering Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The Institute has prepared an exhibition of its latest scientific and technological accomplishments for the forum’s opening.
