The Russian innovation center Skolkovo is holding its startup tour in Minsk on 7-8 April, BelTA learnt from the State Science and Technology Committee.
This year the event will be held at the Belarusian State Agrarian Technical University. Among its organizers and partners is the Russian Skolkovo, the State Science and Technology Committee, RUSNANO, the Minsk City Technopark.
Invited to partake in the startup tour are students, teachers, scientists and entrepreneurs with innovation projects.
All startup tour participants get a participant’s certification after registration and new knowledge for successful commercialization of innovation projects.
Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Vasily Matyshevsky said earlier that the startup movement has been gaining pace in Belarus. For instance, in 2014 state support of startup companies increased 3.5 times in comparison with 2013.
In 2015 one of the legs of the Skolkovo All-Russian Startup Tour took place in Minsk. About 900 applications were registered for the participation of the Belarusian event, including 250 applications for the presentation of projects. In June 2015 the project of Belarusian developer Kirill Levkov reached the Skolkovo Startup Village final. His project named Innovative Plant Turbosphere is meant to design a new type of plant for recycling secondary energy resources, namely the energy that excessive pressure of natural gas represents.
