04.08.2015
Around 150 active users of social networks will gather in Minsk on 21-23 August to participate in the 4th NeForum for bloggers. The information about the forthcoming event was released at a press conference in Moscow on 3 August, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia.
The organizers expect that the annual forum of active users of social networks will gather some 150 most popular bloggers from the countries of the CIS. Partaking in the international event will be top bloggers of the Cyrillic segment of LiveJournal, Instagram, YouTube, and VK and professional journalists. The topic of this year’s edition of the forum will be New Opinion Leaders. NeForum 2015 has been organized by the Eurasian Communication Center.
“It is a great honor and at the same time responsibility for us, as it will be the first time that we will host such a prestigious forum,” Minister Counselor of the Belarusian embassy in Russia Pavel Lyogky noted during the press conference. In his words, Belarus is a far more interesting place than many stereotypes suggest. “It is very important for us that the participants of the forum see our country as it is and describe it to their subscribers. I sincerely hope that popular bloggers will help us open a new Belarus,” the diplomat said.
For his part, Director of the Eurasian Communication Center Alexei Pilko emphasized that NeForum for bloggers is a significant event. “The forum is very important as it helps us be in step with the times and understand modern media trends,” he explained. He believes that new media are a field where the rules of the game are still being shaped, and the Eurasian Communication Center has a chance to be not just an outside observer but a direct participant of the process of progressive media development.
