Networking resources for digital government in Belarus by late 2015

21.04.2014
The construction of networking resources to create a digital government in Belarus will be finished by late 2015, BelTA learned from Belarusian Information Technologies and Communications Minister Sergei Popkov on 21 April.

The relevant program for 2016-2020 is being formed in Belarus to fulfill the Belarus president’s instruction to advance the country to the 30th position in the ranking that evaluates the development of information and communication technologies and the formation of the digital government. “The creation of the digital government is one of the key tasks that the Information Technologies and Communications Ministry and the Belarusian IT community on the whole are fulfilling and coordinating. The digital government will enable the convenient use of resources developed for government agencies and citizens,” said Sergei Popkov.

The Minister also remarked that this year the forum on telecommunications, information and banking technologies TIBO 2013 will pay close attention to the advancement of information technologies in Belarus. “A united web portal for digital services is already operational in Belarus. It can be used to get over 100 free digital information services. For instance, users can order a train ticket or check the length of the queue at an automobile border checkpoint,” added Sergei Popkov.
