Over 500 scientists from the scientific organizations of the Belarus-Russia Union State, the CIS, European, and Asian countries will attend the celebrations of the 85th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) in Minsk on 23-25 January, BelTA learnt from the NASB press service.
Partaking in the celebrations will be Nobel Prize Winner, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Foreign Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Zhores Alferov, Head of the Siberian Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Aseyev, and others. At the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus the world-famous scientists will make scientific reports on the current issues of the development of modern science.
The program of the celebrations will feature roundtables, open doors days, and the international science-to-practice conference Science for Innovative Development of Society. The conference will discuss the creation and implementation of knowledge-intensive technologies, materials, and products in the most promising fields of science.
The celebrations will also include a large-scale exhibition of the results of the innovative research conducted by the scientists of the NASB and Belarusian universities. The exhibition will present over 500 latest scientific solutions: space technologies, information technologies, bio- and nanotechnologies, new pharmaceutical products, and scientific achievements in the field of agriculture. The exhibition will also showcase books by humanities scientists and recent archaeological findings. Belarusian ministries and government agencies will also present their achievements at the exhibition.
Belarusian scientists will gather at the Big Conference Hall of the NASB Board to participate in the award ceremony of the most outstanding scientists.
